7th IMPRS Summer School: Machine Learning for Process and Systems Engineering

This year the IMPRS Summer School will take place in a slightly different - hybrid - format.

July 19, 2021

Every two years, the International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS ProEng) organizes a well-received summer school in Magdeburg where our PhD candidates are encouraged to further debate about distinct challenges of Applied Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, and Bioprocess Engineering. Oustanding experts are invited to share their knowledge and competencies but also to expand a network with engaged young researchers.

Machine learning (ML) methods are currently gaining ground in many areas of research and technology. For this reason, the topic of this year's Summer School will be "Machine Learning for Process and Systems Engineering". It will be addressed which issues in process and systems engineering can benefit from advanced Machine learning methods. Besides teaching the mathematical basics, exemplary ML applications are the core of this year's program.

The IMPRS summer school will take place from September 27 - September 29, 2021. Many interesting talks are planned around the topic of "Machine Learning for Process and Systems Engineering". The program is composed of lectures and tutorials that enable participants to put all theoretical tools acquired into practice. Furthermore, a cultural and social agenda completes the schedule of three intensive days of research.

Doctoral researchers of the IMPRS ProEng, as well as PhD candidates and advanced master students working on related topics, are invited to register and make our summer school a success. While the doctoral researchers of the IMPRS ProEng in Magdeburg can join this year's Summer School live, external participants are warmly invited to join the event via a Livestream. The Registration is possible until August 15, 2021. We are looking forward to welcoming you in September!.
