Computational Methods in Systems and Control Theory
In silico optimization and control of complex technical processes rely on accurate and fast computational methods. The research group develops and analyzes mathematical algorithms and methods for computational engineering, with special emphasis on computer-aided control system design and focus on dynamical systems, by using e.g. advanced numerical (multi-)linear algebra techniques, model reduction/system approximation, and parallel algorithms. In this context, we also study the use of machine and deep learning techiques for surrogate modeling and identification of dynamical systems from data. (Prof. Peter Benner)
