Young scientist Babette Tecklenburg received the Ladies Night Award for her work in the area of security and hazard defense.

The Ladies Night Award for Young Talents in Engineering Science was presented to Babette Tecklenburg. She received the prize for the best science poster in the field of STEM. Ms. Tecklenburg studies security and hazard defense at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (OVGU) and at the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences. In her bachelor thesis, she dealt with the topic "Evacuation of people with disabilities" and created a science poster on this topic.

The prize was jointly awarded by the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems Magdeburg and the Fraunhofer IFF. The certificate was handed over by professor Dominique Thévenin on June 2, 2020, along with a gift from the Faculty of Process and Systems Engineering.

The Ladies Night for women in engineering is part of an OVGU lecture series to promote young women scientists and support them in their career paths. The event was first launched in 2012 by the Faculty of Process and Systems Engineering (FVST) and the Student Council of the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg as FVST Ladies Night and started with around 20 participants.
It has been taking place in cooperation with the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems Magdeburg since 2016. The event is primarily aimed at students, doctoral students and young scientists from the engineering area of ​​the STEM disciplines.
