Prof. Martin Stoll takes up professorship at Chemnitz University

After seven years in Magdeburg, he assumes position in Computational Science

The Chemnitz University of Technology has appointed PD Dr. Martin Stoll for a new professorship at the Department of Mathematics, where he will take up the professorship Computational Science.

Stoll completed his diploma thesis in mathematics at Chemnitz University in 2005. Subsequently, he did his doctorate at the Mathematical Institute at the University of Oxford (Great Britain) until 2008. After his doctorate, he carried out a two-year postdoctoral research at the newly found OCCAM Centre for Applied Mathematics in Oxford.

In 2010, Stoll moved to the Max-Planck-Institute in Magdeburg. The research group “Numerical Linear Algebra for Dynamical Systems” was found under his direction in the summer of 2013. In 2016, he received the Richard-von-Mises Award 2016 of the International Association of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (GAMM).

He received his habilitation for the subject mathematics in 2016 at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg.
