First Steps in Magdeburg

1. We will make a reservation for a room in the MPI or the university guest house for the first weeks of your stay.
2. At the citizens office, you have to register your address.
3. Now we can open a bank account, e.g. for your scholarship payment.
4. We will discuss the various options concerning health insurance, depending on your personal situation.
5. With a proof of a valid health insurance, we have to go to the foreigners authority, where you will receive the 'residence title'.
6. Now it is time to matriculate at the university.
   The equivalence of your academic grades will be checked before your arrival, if possible. The faculty will then accept you as a doctoral student.
