After Arrival
In this section, you will find some brief information what has to be done after your arrival in Germany.
It is a legal requirement in Germany to have a valid health insurance. We strongly advise that you also take up a personal liability insurance.
First and foremost, you will need to register with the local Citizens Office (“Bürgerbüro”).
If you stay in Germany for more than 90 days, you need to apply for a residence permit in the local Foreigners’ Registration Office (“Ausländerbehörde”) as soon as your entry visa is about to expire.
Please contact Auslaenderbehoerde at least three month prior to the expiration date of your visa.
