Learning German
In October 2024 we reorganized our German courses. Smaller groups, more intensive, faster, more often and additional conversation courses!
German classes are offered for levels A1 to B2 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) for members of the IMPRS Magdeburg and their spouses. If there is enough capacity also members of the MPI Magdeburg and from Magdeburg University can join the courses.
- A1 & A2: 6 SWS (twice a week); 1 semester = 1 level = 2 courses (part 1 and part 2 of the level); start in October and April; max. 8 participants; online.
- B1 & B2: 5 SWS (twice a week); 9 months = 1 level = 2 courses (part 1 and part 2 of the level); B1 starts in October, B2 starts in July; max. 12 participants; online.
- Conversation courses I & II: 2 SWS (once a week, summer semester only); 1 semester = 1 course; levels A2 or B2 have to be completed in order to be accepted to the respective course; max. 8 participants; onsite at the MPI.
There is no course fee but some conditions you accept by enrolling in our courses:
- You buy your own course material. The teacher will let you know about it shortly before the course starts.
- A minimum attendance of 75% is required in order to successfully finish the course and to be enrolled in the follow-up-course.
- A minimum completion rate of homeworks of 50% is required in order to successfully finish the course and to be enrolled in the follow-up-course.
