Reduced Basis Summer School 2016

The Reduced Basis Summer School is an event organized by young scientists for young scientists. It aims at master students and PhD students in the field of Model Order Reduction.

Topics:

  • Model Order Reduction for Parametrized Systems
  • Model Order Reduction for Linear and Nonlinar Systems
  • Model Order Reduction in Optimization, Control and UQ

As the main purpose of this event is to get to know each other, everyone is encouraged to give a talk about their latest results and/or their current research problems.

Date and Location

The Reduced Basis Summer School 2016 will take place from October 4 to October 7, 2016 (departure after lunch) at Kloster Hedersleben, Hedersleben, Germany. Accommodation is available from October 3, 2016. The location is a former nunnery, which is located in the district of Harz in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. For directions please check out google maps. If you are planning to travel by train, please take into account that October 3, 2016 is the German Unity Day. The closest train station is Hedersleben-Wedderstedt. If you have to fly, the nearest airport is Leipzig/Halle, from where it takes approx. 2,5 hours to the nunnery by train. Another option is Berlin Tegel, the travel time is appr. 3,5 hours.

Registration and Fees

Registration deadline is June 17th, 2016. To register please send an email to holzmann@mpi-magdeburg.mpg.de containing the following information:

  • Name
  • Institute
  • University (with address)
  • Mail Address
  • Presentation Title
  • Vegetarian/Non-Vegetarian

Registration can be cancelled without any cost 7 days before arrival (September 26, 2016). After that 50% of the workshop fee have to be paid.

The weekly workshop fee, including accommodation in a double bedroom & meals, is 240 €. A small contingent of single rooms is available on request for an extra charge.

The workshop and conference fee has to be paid on arrival.
