Projects of the MSE Group

Our group develops novel functional nanomaterials and devices for applications in energy, sensing and bio-medicine.

We use a range of fabrication and characterisation techniques, ranging from advanced nanoscale characterisation methods to scalable solution-based nanofabrication to microscale additive manufacturing methods.

We work in close collaboration with industrial and clinical partners to develop new and innovative materials and device solutions to existing problems.

One of the projects is directed to development of crystallization and precipitation processes for separation and purification of substances/materials as well as the production of particles with desired properties, for example a defined solid phase or molecular weight distribution. The related tasks are handled interdisciplinary in different research groups of the MPI and in cooperation with companies and universities.
