Targeted design of the structure and properties of novel material systems

The Materials Systems Engineering Research Department focuses on the systems engineering of functionalised materials.
Our group investigates the central question of how the structure and properties of novel material systems are related and how these can be specifically designed to realise certain functionalities in applications in energy technology, sensor technology, actuator technology and biomedicine.

With our research, we aim to provide new insights and systems engineering approaches for the generation, storage and conversion of renewable energies.

Another focus will be on innovative sensors and actuators, which are key components of the next generation of control loop systems.
