February 28, 2020

Prof. Dr. Peter Benner, Director and Head of the Research Group Computational Methods in Systems and Control Theory (CSC), has been elected into the DFG Review Board for the committee of „Mathematics“ for the period from 2020 to 2023.

The review boards of the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG) have an important task: They evaluate the promotion of research applications sent to the DFG in order to monitor whether consistent application appraisal standards are applied, and advise the DFG on how to develop their funding programmes further.

For the election from 21 October to 18 November 2019, almost 140,000 scientists and scholars were registered as eligible to vote. Voter turnout was at 38.2 percent. There were 1,659 candidates, including 33 from the Max Planck Society. 15 Max Planck researchers were elected to the DFG Review Boards.
