MoreSim4Nano: Fast Simulations for tomorrow's computers

If you shoot a picture with a camera, the image usually will be saved as jpg. Because of compression not every pixel is saved, only the most important features of the image will be stored to save storage space. Mathematicians within the joint research project MoreSim4Nano funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research try to achieve a similar result for physical and technical processes: to extract and save the most important features for a faster simulation. This practice is applied to a lot of disciplines in engineering and natural sciences.
