Curriculum Vitae
Dr. Shamsul Qamar was born in 1972
in the small village of district Mardan (KPK), Pakistan. He got his basic education up to graduation level
in Mardan. He did his MSc and MPhil (gold medalist) degrees in mathematics from
Quaid-I-Azam University (QAU) Islamabad
in 1994 and 1996, respectively. Afterwards, he joined PIEAS Islamabad as a fellow and later as a faculty member. In 2001,
he moved to Germany
and got PhD degree from Otto-von-Guericke
University Magdeburg in 2003. In year 2008, he got “Habilitation Degree” from the same university of Germany
after four years of postdoctoral teaching and research. Since January 2004 he has a continuous research collaboration with the research group of Prof. Seidel-Morgenstern at Max Planck Institute Magdeburg. In May 2008, he joined CIIT
Islamabad as an associate professor in the department of mathematics.
