Main Focus

I’m primarily interested in the use of simulation or measurement data for the description of complex non-linear dynamical systems arising in the natural and engineering sciences. With increasing computational power, our ability to leverage simulation data in order to define computational models for complex systems are constantly improving. In this context, I’m particularly interested in designing statistically robust algorithms relying on finite data, and in mathematical characterisations of the reliability of these models when it comes to making predictions. To this end, I’m drawing on elements of statistical learning, numerical linear algebra, dynamical systems theory and stochastic analysis. Application areas I’m interested in include molecular dynamics simulations and quantum physics.
