Honorable Mention awarded to Dr. Pawan Goyal
Best Ph.D. Theses in Numerical Linear and Multilinear Algebra were honoured.
Dr. Pawan Goyal, postdoctoral research fellow in the research group Computational Methods in Systems and Control Theory, has been awarded a Honorable Mention by the Householder Prize Committee for his Ph.D. thesis on "System-theoretic model order reduction for bilinear and quadratic-bilinear systems".
Pawan Goyal is a mathematician and alumnus of the International Max Planck Research School Magdeburg. He successfully completed his thesis at the Otto von Guericke University in 2018. His main research focus is currently on image reconstruction and applications in bio-medical, on data-driven identification of dynamical systems and on dimensionality reduction for linear and nonlinear dynamical systems.
The Householder Prize is awarded for the worldwide best Ph.D. theses in the field of "Numerical linear and Multilinear Algebra" for the past three years. The prize is entirely financed by voluntary contributions of the conference participants and is named in honor of the founder of the symposium, Alston S. Householder, a pioneer of numerical linear algebra.
