20 Years of Internship „Verfahrenstechnik und Technische Kybernetik“
Laying a cornerstone and arousing interest in the natural and engineering sciences
The Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems aims at laying a cornerstone and at arousing interest in the natural and engineering sciences.
With our one-week internship Schülerpraktikum „Verfahrenstechnik und Technische Kybernetik“, we address high school students aged 16 to 18 before their high school exams (“Abitur”). In close cooperation with the Department of Process and Systems Engineering at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, we intend to give them decisive ideas to find a course of studies in the natural or engineering sciences.
The training program includes practical experiments in chemical engineering, process engineering, and control engineering. We offer this course annually since 2002, and we can look at several success stories of students who started studying at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg.
The practical training usually takes place in the Easter holidays. In 2020 and 2021, we had to postpone it twice due to the pandemic. Now we are happy to resume it 11 to 14 April 2022.
16 high school students from Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt, from throughout Germany and even from Virginia, USA, are going to take part this time.
