Statement of the Max Planck Institute Magdeburg on the Attack on the Ukraine

In Solidarity with the Ukrainian Citizens (updated 19 May 2022)

February 25, 2022

The Max Planck Institute Magdeburg is extremely upset about the war of aggression, with which the Russian Federation has invaded Ukraine.

We condemn this illegal invasion of a sovereign state in the strongest possible terms.

Our sympathy and solidarity goes to all Ukrainian citizens, and especially to our own, current and former, Ukrainian employees and their families, as well as to our colleagues from the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine, with whom we have been linked by a cooperation agreement since 2017.

We hope for a return to peace in a free and democratic Ukraine as soon as possible!
