Reward for scientific research in chemical engineering on 9th European Congress on Chemical Engineering

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kai Sundmacher, Director at the Max Planck Institute in Magdeburg, has held a plenary lecture, invited by the the foundation Stichting Hoogewerff-Fonds, on new concepts for future chemical process design on the occasion of the 9th European Congress on Chemical Engineering (ECCE-9) in The Hague, Netherlands.

Gemeinsame Presseerklärung der außeruniversitären Wissenschaftseinrichtungen der Landeshauptstadt Magdeburg:
Die Einschätzung des Finanzministers des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt, die Hochschulen seien mittelmäßig, ist nicht nur fatal für die Innen- und Außensicht des Landes, sondern auch eine Fehleinschätzung. Die aus dieser Fehleinschätzung abgeleiteten Sparpläne gefährden die Forschung nicht nur an den Hochschulen, sondern insgesamt im Land – sie bringen Sachsen- Anhalt um die Chance, von der bisherigen Forschungsförderung langfristig profitieren zu können.

International Max Planck Research School Magdeburg: New name, new period of funding


March 4th, 2013
The funding of the International Max Planck Research School Magdeburg is extended for another six years period until 2019 by the Max Planck Society. The research school will be renamed into IMPRS for Advanced Methods in Process and Systems Engineering – IMPRS ProEng. The new name describes in a more concise way the objective of the school: to foster a close interplay between theory and practical experiments.
