MPI Colloquia Series: Prof. Dr. Nicole Borth, Next Generation CHO and how we might eventually get there

The Max Planck Institute Magdeburg invites you to its series of colloquia. Top-class scientists, invited by the Max Planck Institute Magdeburg, give a survey of their research work. Everybody who is interested, is invited to attend.

Next Generation CHO and how we might eventually get there

With detailed sequence information now available for the most important production cell line for biopharmaceutic production and new tools that enable efficient engineering approaches, the environment for CHO cell research and optimization has significantly changed over the last few years. The combination of computational prediction of cell behavior and efficient testing of multiplexed engineering strategies may thus lead to the next generation of cell lines with enhanced properties and capabilities, however, to take full advantage of the plethora of –omics information, a bit more footwork is still required, such as further model refinement, an in-depth understanding of gene functionality in the context of bioprocessing and enhanced tools to fine-tune expression of genes using synthetic biology control elements.
