Project IntelAlgen
For a sustainable circular economy, cycles must be closed. The IntelAlgen project is developing the scientific basis for an algae-based biorefinery.
Environmental benefits are created through the analysis of natural resources (Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research).
Mathematical models and data-driven methods (machine learning) are used for optimization tasks (Otto von Guericke University - Mathematics).
The utilization of biomass and nutrients is geared toward industrially usable products (valuable secondary materials or chemicals). Achieving a marketable solution requires in-depth research into algae production and its chemical and industrial utilization (MPI).
A multidisciplinary team of engineers, mathematicians, and environmental researchers makes it possible to achieve the highest possible technical feasibility and assess the marketability.
This project is funded by the state of Saxony-Anhalt and the European Union.
