Important travel information: as there will be building work at the Magdeburg main station, there will be an extraordinary stop for the trains at the station Magdeburg Buckau. You can take either a taxi from there to the Institute or you change into another train to get to the Magdeburg main station (Hauptbahnhof). Usually a connecting train is already waiting there.
